“Gold Dust” – DJ Fresh (Flux Pavilion Remix)

It’s like gold dust

You hear me comin’ through your speakers

You see me mashin’ up your airwaves

I know you can’t get enough of my sound

A friend recently told me that I appear to be “obssessed with dubstep.”  What is happening to me?  Seriously, how did this happen?  I think most of the dubstep I’d heard up until recently was just not doing it for me.  Now that I am back into music 24/7 I’m discovering stuff that is doing it for me in a major way.

PLEASE make sure you put this on HD and listen with headphones or good speakers, or it will just sound irritating and the treble will grate on your nerves and you won’t get the bass at all, and then you’ll think I’m crazy.  You may think I’m crazy anyway.  People are going to either love or hate this one.

I think it’s incredibly dope.  Unlike a lot of dubstep I actually want to move to it.  Flux (first name basis) has done a good job of retaining something from the drum-and-bass original that keeps this danceable.  The melody and syncopation of the lyrics help with that, too.

The original is also super duper!  Here it is.  Equally awesome but in a different way.  The dubstep remix makes me want to have a few drinks and groove to it with flashing lights, sternum rattling bass, and a mass of sweaty people.  The original makes me want to take up some strenuous yet fun physical activity.  Now I want to join a double dutch team.

In summary: New life path: Competitive double dutch jumper and dubstep enthusiast.  I might have to move to England.  Things are moving pretty fast.
